Barely surviving his childhood, Cecil Froad grows up to be a defeated, socially inept, man who lives a mundane life as an accountant for an auto parts store. Deep in his heart Cecil hangs on to his one passion, Formula One racing which drives him to make a secret pilgrimage once a year to attend a weekend course at a race car driving school.
One faithful afternoon after making his daily bank deposit Cecil gets carjacked by a gang of ruthless thieves and murders who force him at gunpoint to drive his car as the getaway vehicle in a failed bank robbery.
After kidnapping Cecil and learning of his pathetic life the leader of the criminal thugs decides not to kill him instead he makes him a member of the gang. He feels compelled to teach this “loser of a man\” what it’s like to really live life on the edge.
